Colorado artist James Cukr (pronounced Soo’ ker) has an incredible talent when it comes to painting Sci-Fi. When looking at his dedicated art, it’s hard to believe that he was unsuccessful with art school. Instead of giving art up, he studied at a small technical school before taking on a job working as a production artist at US West Dex, where he works in the Yellow Pages advertising department.
It was during this time that Cukr taught himself to paint and eventually get comfortable enough with the medium to finally display his art. US West soon lost their Graphic art Editor (position he held after 10 years with the company) and Cukr moved on to being a full-time independent artist. To his credit his wife and family were behind him and his life decision one hundred percent.
