The Star Wars magazines of 1977 were very different than those published in the first half of all the other movie years. In 1977, all the journalism (or at very least that vast majority of it) was reactionary. The film, as you know, took the world by surprise and publications had to shift stories around in a mad panic to cover the biggest event of the year. As such, reading them now in hindsight is very special. In 1977 the media embraced and celebrated Star Wars. If you've never read any of them, we highly recommend flipping through a couple.
