From Gentle Giant:

Cad Bane, a key character from season 2 of The Clone Wars. Bane could easily be called a veteran of his craft. He was a menacing mercenary and a ruthless Bounty Hunter. His notoriety placed him amongst the most vile of villains in the Galaxy, and thus a favorite freelancer of the Empire for many of their dirty dealings. This beautifully cast, high quality poly stone maquette comes hand painted to exacting standards. This limited edition piece comes hand numbered, complete with matching certificate of authenticity.

I'm in control. I make the rules now. - Cad Bane

Collector's of Gentle Giant's popular Animated Maquette line will be happy to know that the newest addition to the line is now shipping for those who pre-ordered direct. Cad Bane is already sold out on their website, so you'll have to look elsewhere to get one if you missed the pre-order. With an edition size of just 850 pieces coupled with the huge popularity of the character, it's not surprising that it sold out.

The paint applications are very decent and the sculpt is fantastic. Cad's pose is a classic Clint Eastwood gunslinger stance as he holds his BlasTech LL-30 blaster pistols up in the air. One of the slickest looking parts of his outfit has to be the durasteel magno-grip boots which he has equipped with customized Mitrinomon jetpack thrusters. The cybernetic breathing tubes which are embedded directly into his cheekbones also add to the daunting get up. Finally, his multipurpose wrist gauntlets are highly detailed hiding a multitude of weapons. There are no accessories included with this piece, which means everything is attached. Be extremely careful when handling as the tips of the blasters, the flowing cape and the thrusters are all fragile bits that could easily be broken off.

Cad Bane joins an impressive roster of characters from The Clone Wars TV series that have all gotten the Animated Maquette treatment which includes Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Clone Trooper, Commander Gree, Count Dooku, Coruscant Guard and Kit Fisto.

Next September marks the twentieth anniversary of Hasbro's Kenner The Power Of The Force action figure collection. The line introduced a new generation of children to the wonderful world of Star Wars toys and ushered in the modern collectibles we all enjoy today. Our ever-inquisitive Probe Droid is actively searching all corners of the galaxy to find out if there is interest in products that commemorate this very significant 1995 release.
I'd be into a Hasbro The Lost Line style assortment
I'd love to see Gentle Giant make a Jumbo Kenner 1995 Luke Skywalker
I'm behind both of these ideas!
I got started in 1995, but I have no interest in such a concept.
It isn't for me.
