  • Comments: Princess Leia's antiquated Tantive IV saw much action during her early involvement with the Rebel Alliance, as she often bypassed Imperial blockades on "mercy missions" that were as often as not Rebel supply runs. When the plans for the Death Star were transmitted to the ship, however, Darth Vader did not hesitate to run it down and capture it, along with Leia.

Darth Vader: The sinister Dark Lord of the Sith was the fearsome face of the Empire's effort to destroy the Rebel Alliance. He would stop at nothing to recover the stolen Death Star plans, including inflicting the cruel depredations of the IT-O interrogation droid on his prisoners.

Stormtroopers: Unfailingly loyal to the Emperor, and without concern for their own life or safety, stormtroopers went about the messy business of capturing enemy ships with grim dedication. They flooded through narrow corridors filled with enemy fire, overwhelming defenders with sheer numbers.

Rebel Troopers: Though inexperienced in combat against trained and determined fighters like the Imperial stormtroopers that swarmed onto their ship, these troopers were utterly loyal to Princess Leia and the Rebel Alliance. They fought to the last man in defense of their ship.

    Points of Interest:
  • Darth Vader is a repack of 2000's POTF2 Commtech Darth Vader, complete with Interrogation Droid. Despite what was shown in early photos, there is no lightsaber, except for the one molded to his leg.
  • The Stormtroopers are "repaints" of the figures from 2005's ROTS Evolutions Sandtroopers. This time around, they have "clean" armor, and do not have the extra gear.
  • The Rebel Troopers are retools of 2001's POTJ Rebel Trooper (Tantive IV Defender). This time around, they have new heads and removable helmets. Each figure has a unique head.
  • The Rebel Trooper helmets are "repaints" of the helmet from Captain Antilles 04-15.
  • There are several variations of this set:
    • "Dirty" Sandtroopers instead of the clean armor was shown in early samples.
    • 2 different Rebels (light hair on left, dark hair on right)
    • 2 different Rebels (light hair on right, dark hair on left)
    • 2 of the dark hair Rebels
    • 2 of the light hair Rebels
  • Photography by Dan Curto
  • Also included with this set is a product catalog that shows other toys in The 30th Anniversary Collection.

Next September marks the twentieth anniversary of Hasbro's Kenner The Power Of The Force action figure collection. The line introduced a new generation of children to the wonderful world of Star Wars toys and ushered in the modern collectibles we all enjoy today. Our ever-inquisitive Probe Droid is actively searching all corners of the galaxy to find out if there is interest in products that commemorate this very significant 1995 release.
I'd be into a Hasbro The Lost Line style assortment
I'd love to see Gentle Giant make a Jumbo Kenner 1995 Luke Skywalker
I'm behind both of these ideas!
I got started in 1995, but I have no interest in such a concept.
    It isn't for me.
