COMMENTS
The title of this issue is culled from "The Kalarba Adventures" Trade Paperback.

This issue has a four page preview and subscription card for Star Wars Galaxy Magazine, located in the middle of the book.

On a minor note, there are two instances of the character Jace Forno using strong language not predicated by any language seen in the films. These include a "dammit" and a "damn" which seems odd, since these books appear geared toward a younger audience.
SYNOPSIS
On the moon of Indobok, Fulmrick is collecting a bag of crystals when he is startled by a giant rock creature that rises up out of the ground. He drops the crystals and departs in his ship.

In the Pitareeze house, C-3PO is acting as a fitting dummy for Artoo to make alterations on a dress for Nak's mother. Jace Forno enters the Pitareeze office and tells Threepio that she is looking for droid guides for a trip to Indobok. The Pitareeze's agree to let the droids help Captain Forno, but she has ulterior motives. She plans to scrap the droids once they have helped her retrieve some of the crystals.

The next morning the droids join Forno on her ship and they blast off for the moon. She instructs the droids where to look for the crystals as she holds off the strange rock creatures with her blaster rifle. The droids enter a canyon and manage to walk right by another creature who is not even interested in them. Once they discover the crystals, and manage to gather some, the creature comes after them.

Returning to the landing site, and being followed by a horde of creatures, Artoo and Jace roll onto the ship with Threepio falling closely behind and managing to grab onto the boarding ramp as the ship departs. But Threepio is unable to hold on and falls thru the air to the moon below. Departing toward Hosk to meet their buyer, Jace instructs her co-pilot to eject Artoo, which he does.

Worried about the droids and realizing that the payment Captain Forno made is no good, the Pitareeze family departs to Indobok. They discover Artoo floating in space and bring him aboard.

At Hosk station, Jace and Fulmrick collect fifty thousand credits from Muptupp for the crystals and plan to return with a larger group to collect even more. Meanwhile Artoo plays back the events that transpired on the moon, and the Pitareeze family lands to find and rescue Threepio.

They discover Threepio, amidst a large group of creatures, that he introduces as b'rknaa. They use the crystals to animate ashen husks and are actually quite peaceful unless the crystals are threatened.

After a brief ash storm, Captain Forno and at least seven new hired mercenaries land. The Baron vows to help protect the b'rknaa from the robbers, and blasts one of the mercs dead center in his chest. Joining with the b'rknaa, the Pitareeze's manage to drive back Forno's men, but the tide appears to turn as the b'rknaa all begin to retreat.

In fact, they manage to combine themselves into a super-b'rknaa and destroy Forno's ship. Forno and her men are all locked into the Pitareeze cruiser's hold as the b'rknaa thank Threepio for everyone's help. They also reveal that Indobok is the adult b'rknaa. Nak finds it slightly disturbing that he's standing on something alive.
