Darth Vader may be the greatest movie villain of all time, but let's not forget who made him that way... Palpatine will figure prominently in this year's climactic final installment of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, so it's natural to expect Hasbro to cover all the bases in their Revenge of the Sith line. Among the many versions of the Chancellor turned Emperor on tap for this year, we'll start with the basics; Emperor Palpatine: III-12. Cloaked in his traditional black robes, the evil specter pulling all the stings in The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones finally reveals his true identity, and his lightsaber for Episode III. Compared to recent versions of the Emperor, this year's figure is a breath of fresh air. Hasbro has finally nailed the hood on old Palpy, a much needed improvement over the 2003's (Throne Room) Emperor. Add to that a really nice head sculpt, solid deco (what little there can be), and a fun action feature (I don't care what you say, this stuff is fun), and you've got a pretty good toy. Emperor Palpatine III-12 is slated for the first assortment of Collection 1 with expected availability on April 2nd.
