The second send away action figure in the classic Kenner series set a tone. Even though the first (Boba Fett, natch) planted the seed, the second told the original Star Wars Generation that the figures Kenner offered as mail aways were always going to focus on the most sublime characters or iconic moments in the original trilogy. Simple as that. There was only one time that the very first (and most popular) send away figure would be on store shelves with an offer for the second send away figure. When launched, the send away for Bossk was marketed as a secret action figure and we ate it up like it was fine chocolate and thirty-four years after the fact there is little doubt that Bernard Loomis and his team were dead on the money with the line's eight year run.
