Hey there, Rebelscum fans! It's about time we looked at the most popular gaming franchise in the Star Wars universe: Battlefront. Today we’ll be breaking down all the games in the series, but stay tuned for more. We’ll be delving into Battlefront with additional articles, insights, videos, and information on all the essential merchandise that you need to be collecting.

The Battlefront series instantly became one of the most beloved games in Star Wars’s history. The chance to engage in combat missions on countless Star Wars locations was an unmissable opportunity for fans, and later installments have only expanded the possibilities. With many new entries in the long running series, it can get confusing to keep track of them all. Here’s a quick guide to everything:

Star Wars: Battlefront (2004) - The original game from Pandemic Studios was released to coincide with the 2004 DVD re-release of the second round of original trilogy special editions. It was available on PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Microsoft Windows, and included the option to play as tie-in characters for each of the different factions. This included Count Dooku (Separatists), Mace Windu (Galactic Republic), Luke Skywalker (Rebel Alliance), and Darth Vader (Galactic Empire).

Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005) - Pandemic Studios’ sequel incorporated the new locations from Revenge of the Sith, including those only briefly glimpsed in Order 66. The story mode told the story of the entire saga from the perspective of the 501st.

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron (2007) - The PlayStation portable game from the aptly named Rebellion Developments followed an elite squad of commandos throughout the events of the original trilogy.

Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron (2009) - Rebellion Developments’ sequel told a narrative story of X2, the rarely Force-sensitive clone, and showed his story throughout the Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War. In addition to original trilogy characters, the game included the new characters from 2008’s The Force Unleashed.

Star Wars Battlefront: Mobile Squadron (2009) - The mobile version of the series from THQ Wireless offered fans the chance to play across expanded factions on their phone.

Star Wars: Battlefront (2015) - The first installment released after the Disney purchase of Lucasfilm was released by EA Dice and rebooted the series within the new canon. It included original and prequel trilogy locations in addition to Jaaku, and a 2016 update included Rogue One’s Battle of Scarif.

Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017) - The EA Dice sequel introduced a single-player narrative version of the story that explored the rise of the Resistance and First Order in the period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
