You can always find a good argument for sealing an old toy in a graded acrylic case, but are the same points valid for graded comic books? To most, this writer included, funny books are meant to be read. Even if it features cover art by Mignola, Sienkiewicz, Cloonan, or Adams and garbage inside, sealing it in acrylic takes the life completely out of what it is. That said, graded comics have been going for top bank for years, so when something as rare and sought after as the
35¢ version of Marvel's Star Wars #1 shows up sealed and graded we feel a little sad. Will that stop it from being worth a lot of money? Heck no!
