From Gentle Giant:

Newly appointed to the rank of captain, Han Solo joined the Rebel Alliance in refuge on the icy planet of Hoth. Utilizing a portable scanner, Solo located Luke Skywalker who had gone missing during a routine patrol in the outer rim of Echo Base.

This highly-detailed mini bust, based on the original Lucasfilm costumes and props, was sculpted and painted by Gentle Giant Ltd. We hope you enjoy.

Here is a real gem of an item. In celebration of the 30th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, Gentle Giant brings us our favorite smuggler (and just promoted captain), Han Solo in his Hoth gear. The controversy surrounding the color of the jacket worn in the Hoth scenes will be an ongoing discussion for many generations to come. To please everyone, Gentle Giant decided to make both. The brown coat version is the regular limited edition release, and the blue coat version is a Premier Guild Exclusive only available to Premier Guild Members. These are the same in every way except the color of the coat. You will notice that the date stamp on the box, bust and COA is 2009. Originally, it was scheduled to be out last year, but was later pushed to the middle of 2010.

This piece has some weight to it. A very solid Mini-Bust and very detailed. The paint applications are perfect, the face is a great likeness to Mr. Ford even down to the scar on his chin. The portable scanner and the macrobinoculars have real straps that are somewhat poseable. The two removable antennas are retractable which is nice if you don't have the shelf space to display them at their full height. The antennas are the only fully removable pieces with this item. Overall, I'm very impressed and I can't wait to get the blue coat version to compare.

Next September marks the twentieth anniversary of Hasbro's Kenner The Power Of The Force action figure collection. The line introduced a new generation of children to the wonderful world of Star Wars toys and ushered in the modern collectibles we all enjoy today. Our ever-inquisitive Probe Droid is actively searching all corners of the galaxy to find out if there is interest in products that commemorate this very significant 1995 release.
I'd be into a Hasbro The Lost Line style assortment
I'd love to see Gentle Giant make a Jumbo Kenner 1995 Luke Skywalker
I'm behind both of these ideas!
I got started in 1995, but I have no interest in such a concept.
It isn't for me.
