First, an announcement
Because of the continued demand for the basic figures from both consumers and retailers, Hasbro will make another line of "Greatest Hits" figures in 2007 to run alongside The 30th Anniversary Collection. This will be a series of straight repacks, similar to what we've seen this year with "Heroes & Villains" and "Greatest Battles," although this line will not be solely focused on Revenge of the Sith, but from across the entire modern Star Wars collection.

This line is expected to come out in mid-to-late spring 2007, and be packaged similar to The 30th Anniversary Collection. Look for 20-24 figures, complete with collector coins. These coins, however, will be somewhat different. They will not be numbered, but will be a series of six different "movie logo" coins, one for each movie. The coins will not be dedicated to a particular figure and will not have a character likeness on them. Therefore, multiple characters will share the same movie-logo coin.

Fans get to choose
Hasbro and Rebelscum have joined forces to find out which figures collectors want brought back to make up this line. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Star Wars, ANY 3¾" figure in the modern line is eligible...from the very first POTF2 wave up to the last TSC wave. That's over 1000 figures to choose from! (Note: I think everyone agrees that the Vintage line should be left as is.)

So which figures would you like to see brought back in this line: Pilot Obi-Wan? Episode II SA Clone Trooper? 500th Vader? 501st Legion Clone Trooper? Sio Bibble? TC-14? Ugnaughts? Shock Troopers? Dexter Jettster? Lobot? "Monkey-faced" Princess Leia? You can vote for your favorites!

The voting process
So how can you voice your opinion? Here's how this will work. Starting today, Rebelscum will run a series of week-long polls in our forums listing ALL the action figures in the modern line. In today's poll, you can choose from nearly 200 POTF2 figures to determine your favorite figures you'd like to see brought back in 2007. At the end of the polling period, the top 8 figures will move on to the second round and face off against the top 8 from other figure lines in a head-to-head tournament! So be sure to vote, because the higher the votes, the higher the ranking in the bracket.

The overall winners will be incorporated into Hasbro’s "Greatest Hits 2007" assortment.* But just for fun, we're going to find out which fiure is your #1 favorite figure in the modern line that you want brought back. Head on into our forums and place your votes now!

*Inclusion of actual figures in Hasbro's Greatest Hits 2007 assortment shall be subject to determination by Hasbro.

Power of the Force 2 figures
Can't remember all those action figures from 1995-2000? Fear not, we've got you covered. Just check out the all-new group shots in our POTF2 Photo Archive.

1995 POTF2 figures

1995 Figures - Inspired by the many superhero toy lines at the time, the 12 initial figures had a more heroic sculpt and pose, as well as multiple accessories. Nearly all of these figures have been updated since this initial debut.

1996 POTF2 figures

1996 Figures - Continuing the more heroic style, these figures provided a mix of characters between the Classic Trilogy films. Again, nearly all of these figures have been updated over the years.

1997 POTF2 figures

1997 Figures - The 20th Anniversary was in full swing this year, with more figures from the Classic Trilogy, including some new characters from the Special Editions and some characters never before made as action figures. While still using the more heroic sculpts, many of these figures still hold up to today.

1998 POTF2 figures

1998 Figures - With the popularity of Star Wars growing, more characters than ever before were made this year. With a mix of new versions of main and obscure backround characters. The heroic sculpts phased out this year in favor of more accurate sculpts and extra articulation.

1999-2000 POTF2 figures

1999-2000 Figures - With the majority of figures for these years focused on Episode I, the Classic Trilogy figures were few and far between. Some of these figures are still in high demand today.

POTF2 Cinema Scene figures

Cinema Scenes Figures - Starting off in 1997, a series of action figure 3-packs were released inspired by scenes from the Classic Trilogy with new characters or updated versions of main characters.

POTF2 figures from other assortments

Everything Else - From the beginning of the POTF2 line, there have always been action figures that were just a little bit more than the basic line. Some didn't last past the initial wave, some were meant as limited edition exclusives, while others continued throughout the entire run. Included here are the following assortments: Deluxe, Electronic Power F/X, Millennium Minted Coins, Princess Leia Collection, Exclusives, 3D Dioramas, Complete Galaxy, Gunner Stations, Beast Packs, Games, Carry Cases, Rebo Band Packs, and Vehicle pilots.

Next September marks the twentieth anniversary of Hasbro's Kenner The Power Of The Force action figure collection. The line introduced a new generation of children to the wonderful world of Star Wars toys and ushered in the modern collectibles we all enjoy today. Our ever-inquisitive Probe Droid is actively searching all corners of the galaxy to find out if there is interest in products that commemorate this very significant 1995 release.
I'd be into a Hasbro The Lost Line style assortment
I'd love to see Gentle Giant make a Jumbo Kenner 1995 Luke Skywalker
I'm behind both of these ideas!
I got started in 1995, but I have no interest in such a concept.
It isn't for me.
